Cookies and milk party Invite Featuring Cookie MonsterA pink & navy little girls birthday party invitation.
Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite designs to date!
Next month my daughter, Lucy Jean, is turning 2. We were tacking our brains trying to find out what “theme” her birthday should be. She is a simple girl. She loves Sesame Street & Super Why and she absolutely obsesses over some cookies & milk…She used to be crazy about Elmo, and while she still loves him, her heart belongs to Cooke Monster now. So, my sister came up with the amazing idea to have a Cookie Monster / Cookies & Milk birthday party! All of her favorites in one party
When deciding on the colors, I had to be careful because most cookie monster parties out there have been for little boys. While I am not a fan of gender stereotyping, Lucy is my little girl and I still love pink here and thereSo, we decided to tone down that deep royal blue that most cookie monster graphics have on them…
to a more muted/vintage navy blue, then we added some very light pink (almost peach) to the mix to make it more feminine, and voila! This was the inspiration board I found on Pinterest that I used as a base for her colors:
I also knew I did not want the invite to be so obviously “Cookie Monster”…Just a hint so you know He is there
I used some GREAT hand drawn textures from The Cheeky Darling as a base. I absolutely love every single one of her paper packs. They are aproved for small-scale commercial use (like invites, blogs etc…) and super affordable for how unique and beautiful they are! I highly recommend checking her out on Etsy & her blog – missbeyphotography.com! Tell her I sent you
Here are the three directions for the invite that I originally made:
I sent these to my mom, sisters and a few friends and the consensus was that number 3 was the most irresistible
So that is the one we printed, but they are all available in my Etsy shop!
Hope you enjoy looking around. Please stay tuned because I will be posting a tutorial on Lucy’s Fabric Strip Backdrop that I made for her party, plus all of the printables and decor will be posted as I get it
Love to you all!
